Stay turned to this project, it's going to be unique for sure !
This 73 Cuda is donating a rather stout 440 for a 1971 Resto-mod Cuda.
Going to start preparing the CONTROL FREAK independent front suspension as well.
I now have the 440 removed, it's time for a good cleaning and some fresh paint. Going to add some new bling while we're at it !
Finished detailing and assembling the front CONTROL FREAK suspension and Wilwood 12.19 large 4 piston disc brakes for the front. This thing is going to STOP !
Okay the 71 Cuda has arrived and it's time for the fun to start. It's obvious by the amount of road grime under this car that it certainly hasn't been a trailer queen!
With some new gaskets and a fresh coat of paint on the 440 from the yellow car, this monster is ready to fill up that engine bay of this RESTO-MOD project !
Found some rust it the front frame rail that needed to be addressed. The Control Freak front suspension requires the removal of the factory bump stops up front.
The car has been moved to Keith Sim's shop to have the rear suspension brackets professionally welded into place. First task was to strip out the complete stock suspension.
Rear suspension is all roughed in, just needs to be painted, assembled and detailed.
Even the same exhaust still fits !
Moving on to the front...Installed the engine/transmission from underneath, and got all the front brakes mounted...Won't be long now !
Modified the bottom of the battery tray to mount all the electronics for the dual fans. Got a new Flaming River steering column installed and the engine compartment all buttoned up....Looking good !
