Hold on to your socks for this build, it's going to be WILD !!!!
Take one original 1973 340 Cuda and convert all the panels and small details to represent a very cool 1970 AAR Cuda...
But don't stop there, drape the entire car in black, I mean quadruple black with all the extraordinary exterior options....and power the menacing beast with 807hp Redeye Hellcat backed by a SilverSport supplied Tremec TKX 5speed.
Starting with 17" X 9" YearOne rally rims. the folks at Weldcraft in Michigan did a great job of making one of a kind 17" X 12" rally rims, add some TOYO meats and we're ready to roll !
RMS supplied the front and rear suspension to hold that beautiful Redeye Hellcat ! Bringing up the rear is a Moser supplied Dana 60 of course !
Lots of components coming together as the crew at Saunder's Customs works their magic on yet another one !
Up first, ditch the 1973 inner aprons and install new correct 1970 pieces, no detail is too small. Moving to the back of the car, RMS supplied the inboard suspension kit with four link and coil overs... Check out the massive 345 steam rollers out back....no misunderstanding this car means business !
With the rear end suspension all sorted out it's time to tackle all that rust and get rid of the last remnants of the 1973 Cuda and start bringing this 1970 AAR Cuda clone to life.
Up first is the trunk floor, then those nasty rocker panels.
The crew at Saunders Custom's makes quick work on the panel installment. !
With all the new sheet metal in place, the fact that this was an original 1973 Cuda is nothing but a memory now...
This car is really moving right along !
With all the rust repairs done, the modifications done for the custom suspension and massive rear tires...it's off to the body shop side of things where it will get prepared for those gleaming coats of jet black paint !
With the body work finished up in no time flat....it comes down to countless hours of block sanding to get it prepped perfectly for the first coats of black paint.
Incredible paint inside and on the underside, so beautiful you could eat off of it....don't forget the napkins though..
If you thought the bottom looked nice, check out those gleaming body panels...and that's just straight out of the gun, wait until it's finished ! Amazing !!
Finally back from the body shop, looking pretty darn good !
Now I can start the fun part.....the reassembly .....
Off to a good start ! Moser Dana 60 installed, Wilwood Brakes, Tanks Inc fuel system and of course the RMS Street Lynx rear suspension all tucked under the beautiful black beast !
Was able to get the radiator, AC condenser and supercharger intercooler mounted, tight fit, but it's all in there...Beautiful Dapper headlights and check out those massive 345's tucked under the back of this thing !
Huge shout out to Scott Davis for another fantastic vinyl top, headliner and rear glass installation...a real master of his craft !
Gotta love those rear window louvers from Dale's Cuda Shop !
After plenty of sound deadener I was able to install the dash assembly with Dakota Digital gauges, custom SRT emblem, and have Scott back to install the windshield.
Was bit of a chore installing the NU-RELIC power windows with crank switches, but once finished, it was more sound deadener, and I could finish off the interior, looks fantastic ! Cipher bucket seats with a custom matching rear seat.
Check out the custom made flat black AAR Cuda stripes made by Topflight Graphics !
....and of course that Redeye Hellcat looks right at home in it's nest....
